The various official offices, roles and
functions that enable the Empire to operate are known
collectively as the Public Administration. Any
Citizen can take an active role in the day to day
operations of Atlantium, and potentially help define
the future shape and scope of its laws,
administration, policies, procedures, activities and
interactions by registering on this page to become a
member of the Public Administration.
The Public Administration of the Empire
of Atlantium encompasses the following specific roles
and functions:
Consul
Consuls
serve as the Empire's chief law-makers. They are
elected to the Imperial Senate's legislative chamber,
the Concilium for 2 year terms. Consuls may nominate for
election within the Concilium to Ministerial
positions, and therefore membership of the Executive
Government.
Consular and Ministerial
positions are amongst the most active in the
Public Administration, and are recommended for
those seeking a challenging, activist,
potentially high-profile role within Atlantium.
Senator
The
Senatus is the Imperial Senate's legislative review
chamber. Senators are appointed for 2 year terms. Two
thirds are appointed directly by the Emperor -
including the First Senator. The remaining third are
appointed by the Concilium.
If you think that you would like
to play an active role in the Atlantian
legislative process, but are seeking a less
challenging way of doing so then a Senatorial
role may be best for you.
Director
There are five Ministerial positions within
the Atlantian Executive Government, and each encompasses a broad range of responsibilities.
Where specialisation within a Ministry is required
sub-Ministerial Directorates may be created at the
discretion of the Minister and with the legislative
approval of the Imperial Senate, as necessity and
circumstances dictate. Each Directorate is managed by
a Director appointed by the Minister, possessing
potentially wide-ranging authority. Existing sub-Ministerial Directorates are listed
below:
Ministry of Finance:
Directorate of Commerce, Industry and Trade
Directorate of Currency and Banking Services
Directorate of Internal Revenue
Ministry of
Communications
Director of Latin Language Affairs
Directorate of Postal Services
Directorate of Public Information
Directorate of Science and Technology
Secretariat of Environmental Affairs
Directorate of Transportation
Directorate of Temporal Affairs
Ministry of Social
Services
Directorate of Education Services
Directorate of Health Services
Directorate of Intercultural Affairs
Directorate of Welfare Services
Ministry of State
Directorate of Global Affairs
Directorate of Internal Affairs
Directorate of Nobiliary Affairs
Directorate of Protocol
Directorate of Public Administration
The role of Director is ideal
for those who possess both specific knowledge of
a particular discipline and the willingness to
proactively apply that knowledge to drive change
from within.
Magister
The
Imperial Judicature is comprised of magisters
(judges) who are appointed for two-year terms by the Emperor, and whose function is to
interpret the Law as defined by the Constitution and
the Imperial Senate.
A role as Magister would ideally
suit those with experience or interest in the
field of jurisprudence.
Imperial Legates
Atlantium
currently maintains twelve unaccredited diplomatic missions in
nine countries. Imperial Legates are appointed and managed
through the Ministry of State's Directorate of Global Affairs, and
they are responsible for providing support to local Citizens and
promoting the existence of Atlantium and the policies of its
Administration to governments, non-government organisations and
others within their assigned territories.
A Legatine role is suited to those who wish to use their
initiative in promoting the activities and
policies of Atlantium within a specific
geographic or geopolitical sphere of operations.
They may also be an ideal role for Citizens who
travel widely.
